Reza Zamani, AIF, CPM, CFS, CAS
Founding Partner, CEO
Reza Zamani is a Senior Partner and CEO of SteelPeak Wealth. He is one of SteelPeak Wealth’s three founding partners who share almost two decades of successful collaboration and a shared approach to wealth management. Over the course of his career Reza has specialized in investment advisory and financial planning to meet the specialized needs of high net worth clients. SteelPeak Wealth represents the culmination of an approach combining responsible fiduciary services, excellent client service and innovative thinking.
Reza received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with a minor in Sports Management from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he played NCAA Division I soccer. He believes his history as a high-level athlete prepared him well for the process of building a team that is enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working. He also graduated from UCLA’s Management Development Program at the Anderson School of Management. Reza is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary and holds the Certified Portfolio Manager designation from Columbia University and the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers. In addition, he is certified as a Certified Fund Specialist and Certified Annuity Specialist.
Reza served as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Management Director at Morgan Stanley before forming SteelPeak Wealth Management in 2012. During his years in wealth management, he always envisioned an independent advisory firm dedicated to providing a higher level of value and exceptional service to clients. Today Reza’s vision of a talented team of advisors and management providing distinguished fiduciary services to clients has come to fruition in SteelPeak Wealth. SteelPeak Wealth represents Reza’s ideals of innovation, tenacity and client empathy.
Reza believes that giving back to the community is vital. He has served as a board member for non-profit organizations such as Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and The Wellness Community of Los Angeles. He is a frequent wealth management expert and contributor to media outlets such as Fox Business News, Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal. His passions include spending time with his two children and focusing on daily fitness to enrich his physical and mental health.
Maziar Esmailbeigi, AIF, CFS, CAS
Founding Partner, CIO
Maz Esmailbeigi is the CIO of SteelPeak Wealth. He is one of SteelPeak Wealth’s three founding partners, who have shared almost two decades of teamwork together. Prior to SteelPeak Wealth, Maz was an Associated Vice President with UBS PaineWebber and a Vice President and Portfolio Management Director with Morgan Stanley.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University at Northridge. Maz holds the Certified Fund Specialist (CFS®) and Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS®) credential from the Institute of Business & Finance, and is working to become a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor through the College of Financial Planning.
Maz draws on his background as a former business owner and as a veteran financial advisor to help his clients. He uses his broad advisory skills to benefit both individual and business clients, and is well versed in helping business owners translate their success into liquidity events and the retirement that they envision. Maz attributes SteelPeak Wealth’s success to understanding our clients and providing the exacting solutions that they require and expect. Every day he focuses on ensuring that SteelPeak Wealth represents the best interests of the clients and the long-term health of the company.
He has served as a trustee on several nonprofit boards and currently serves on the board of Community Conscience, a nonprofit that offers social service agencies real estate free of rent. He and wife Michelle live in Woodland Hills with their two daughters.
Ali Zamani, AIF, CFS, CAS
Founding Partner, CFO
Ali Zamani is a Senior Partner and CFO of SteelPeak Wealth. He has worked with the other two founding partners for nearly two decades. Ali takes pride in helping advisory clients accomplish their most important life goals and in helping ensure that SteelPeak Wealth remains a strong business that succeeds by always putting clients first. SteelPeak Wealth is the result of collaborative thinking with the other two partners to create a wealth management firm that always puts the wellbeing of the client first and prioritizes innovative ways of doing business.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He began his career at Northwestern Mutual in Los Angeles, where he focused on estate and wealth transfer planning and then joined UBS as a Financial Analyst. Before co-founding Steel Peak Wealth Management Ali was a Vice President of Investments and a Portfolio Management Director at Morgan Stanley. He is certified as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Certified Fund Specialist and Certified Annuity Specialist. Ali enjoys seeing SteelPeak Wealth help clients reach their unique set of goals and simplify the complex wealth management process. With a keen eye for detail and a vision for SteelPeak Wealth that spans decades, Ali is happy to see SteelPeak Wealth surpass its goals each year so that the firm can serve its clients in the best way possible.
Ali is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board of trustees of the Northridge Hospital Foundation, a cause that is near and dear to his heart. Ali lives in Bel Air and enjoys spending his free time with his wife Ferrah and their daughter.
Andrew H. Jacobson
Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Wealth Advisor
Before joining SteelPeak Wealth, Andrew was a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo Advisors. He has been serving clients as a Financial Advisor since 1998. Andrew earned his BA from Ithaca College and his Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from Phillips Graduate Institute.
Andrew’s years of experience in market research, portfolio management and risk analysis have helped him develop and nurture his long-standing, trust-based client relationships. Andrew’s recent decision to move into a fiduciary role as an independent advisor was born from the commitment to focusing even more on the needs and goals of his clients, their families and their businesses. As a fiduciary, Andrew believes that in-depth conversations and planning are the first steps to assisting his current and prospective clients in developing a road map for their financial future. It is his belief that every client’s financial future requires a solid but flexible blueprint which will serve as their investment and retirement planning foundation.
Andrew is active in contributing to multiple charities including Wounded Warrior Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and The ASPCA. In addition, Andrew enjoys fitness, mixed martial arts training, golf, bicycle riding and spending time with his daughter.
Joseph Auday, CFP®, CRPC®
Vice President, Wealth Advisor
Prior to joining SteelPeak Wealth, Joseph was a Wealth Advisor for Seacrest Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch and Partner of a boutique wealth management firm in Santa Monica. Joseph has been a Wealth Advisor assisting clients since 2008.
Joseph holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Certified Financial Planner, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation in addition to the Series 66 license.
He is passionate about helping people and finds satisfaction in fully implementing financial plans to help people reach their goals. Joseph enjoys working out, traveling and hosting social events. He is an active participant in his community as a member of the Guardians Los Angeles. His family is from Argentina and he is fluent in Spanish.
Vice President, Wealth Advisor
Morten has an extensive background in the Securities and Insurance industries. His specialties include money management, insurance, financial and estate planning. He focuses on comprehensive wealth management where he serves the needs of his clients by creating, growing, protecting and preserving wealth in the way that is most advantageous in relation to taxes. Morten received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Lund, Sweden in 1978 and his MBA from American Graduate School of International Management, Phoenix, AZ, in 1984. He has worked for some of the largest firms on Wall Street including Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Securities, Allstate and MassMutual Financial Services.
Morten believes his role is to help clients identify their short and long term financial goals. He develops a complete financial plan, with investments that are appropriate for his client’s objectives and their personal feelings about money and financial security.
Morten has been married to his wife Michele for 18 years. He spends much of his free time with his wife and their two cats in their home in Calabasas. He has an interest in Bonsai Trees and hiking the Santa Monica Mountains.
Associate Vice President, Wealth Advisor
Matthew started as an intern with the Zamani Team at Morgan Stanley before moving to SteelPeak Wealth. He holds an Associates Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge. He also holds a Series 65 securities license.
Matthew earns his clients’ trust by providing unbiased advice that helps them to grow and protect their wealth for life.
Matthew’s hobbies include basketball, softball, computers and hiking. He enjoys joining the SteelPeak Wealth team in volunteering every Christmas at the Walden Family foster care.
Associate Vice President, Wealth Advisor
Since 1994, Rich has overseen the personal finances of affluent individuals and families in Los Angeles and throughout the United States. His clients include people in the entertainment industry, corporate executives, doctors, lawyers, business owners and retired individuals. He has developed unique and innovative strategies to provide his clients consistent and predictable income and investment growth and help them build wealth for retirement, meet personal financial goals, minimize taxes, and attain financial security and independence.
Throughout his 25-year career in wealth management, Rich has been mentioned and quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Financial Planning Magazine, Variety, The Los Angeles Business Journal, U.S. News & World Report, and other financial publications.
Rich especially enjoys working with musicians because, in addition to his work as a financial advisor, he has played, composed and produced music professionally for more than 40 years and performed and recorded with some of the top names in music. Rich’s clientele includes composers, producers, recording artists, touring and session musicians, and members of some of the world’s leading orchestras.
Prior to joining SteelPeak, Rich was president and CEO of Winer Wealth Management and Vice President of Andover Securities Corp. and Redwood Trading Corp., specialists on the Chicago and Pacific Stock Exchanges.
Associate Vice President, Wealth Advisor
Ryan is Associate Vice President of SteelPeak Wealth and a Wealth Advisor. Ryan’s priority is to help families and individuals accomplish their financial goals and to provide the highest level of satisfaction for his clients. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a major in Economics and a minor in Business Administration.
Ryan works with each client to create a unique strategy to help them reach their goals. Ryan focuses on the design and implementation of long-term plans that will help clients have peace of mind during volatility. Ryan appreciated the nuances between clients and enjoys creating personalized and unique strategies. He takes pride in establishing lifelong relationships with clients that continue even when wealth is handed down between generations.
Outside the office, Ryan plays pick-up basketball and is working towards his goal of visiting every national park.
Alec has developed his financial career with SteelPeak as a Wealth Advisor. He graduated from California State University, Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning and holds the series 65 license. He will soon be licensed for the CFP.
As a Wealth Advisor he believes in making sure that there is a solid foundation for a financial plan backing each family. Alec also helps individuals looking to diversify their portfolios closer to retirement into alternative investments. He aims to balance clients portfolios with the most optimal return possible with limited risk.
Alec has a passion for helping others succeed. He is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals through meticulous planning and preparation. In his free time, Alec loves traveling and working out. His goal is to see every part of the world.
As part of SteelPeak’s Wealth Advisor team, Roger is driven to help clients to reach their financial goals. His areas of expertise include financial planning, retirement planning and investment management. Roger graduated from California State University Northridge earning a bachelor’s in Finance, with a concentration in Financial Analysis. He currently holds a series of 65 securities license.
Roger is committed to developing meaningful relationships with clients by formulating specific financial solutions for every individual’s unique situation. A key factor in Roger’s approach is mitigating risk in the overall portfolio to optimize returns. He strives to continuously grow professionally and expand his knowledge in the financial markets.
Roger enjoys spending his free time in nature and visiting his family in San Diego.
Roxana Maddahi is a Wealth Advisor who specializes in guiding millennials through financial planning and investing by helping them to understand their personal finances and actively grow their wealth as they grow in their careers and lives. Roxana has been working in the private wealth management space for 13 years. She started in the investment management division at Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan in New York. Before joining SteelPeak Wealth in 2015, Roxana built her own practice at Morgan Stanley in Los Angeles. Roxana earned her Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University with a double concentration in Business Economics and International Business.
Roxana is passionate about continual learning and is regularly taking courses to learn about new topics; she recently studied cryptocurrency and real estate investing. Roxana treats her clients with care and compassion and works in their best interests. She believes in investing her client’s money as she would and does her own. She created a blog that is devoted to teaching matters of finance in a way that people can understand. She loves to learn about the various businesses that her clients are involved with and is inspired by their creativity and expertise.
Roxana has a passion for researching and writing about matters of personal finance. She is published in Forbes, Huffington Post, Elite Daily, Millennial Magazine, among others. She is on the board of Looking Beyond LA, a non-profit that helps enrich the lives of children and young adults with disabilities. Outside of work and volunteering, she spends her free time with her husband and two children.
Wayne T. Slappy
Wayne worked as a Manager and Vice President for global and local banks for over 12 years and has been in the wealth management industry for over 4 years. Prior to joining SteelPeak Wealth, Wayne was a financial advisor at Waddell & Reed. Wayne graduated from the University of San Diego where he earned his degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. He specializes in retirement planning, college savings, and comprehensive financial planning.
He is an active member of the City Club Los Angeles and a moderator for the All Cities Network. His philanthropic endeavors include supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and providing educational seminars for veterans and underprivileged youth. In his free time, Wayne enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two sons, Wayne Jr. and Bruce.
