Maz Esmailbeigi is a Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer at SteelPeak Wealth, where he has played a pivotal role in guiding the firm’s strategic direction since its inception. As one of SteelPeak Wealth’s three founding partners, Maz brings over two decades of collaborative leadership to the team. With more than 20 years of experience as a financial advisor, Maz has developed a deep and nuanced understanding of the financial industry. Before co-founding SteelPeak Wealth, he served as an Associate Vice President at UBS and held the roles of Vice President and Portfolio Management Director at Morgan Stanley.
Maz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and has earned the Certified Fund Specialist (CFS®) and Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS®) designations from the Institute of Business & Finance. He is also pursuing the Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC) designation through the College for Financial Planning.
Maz’s expertise extends beyond traditional financial advisory services; his deep understanding and application of Behavioral Finance principles are central to his approach in guiding clients. He recognizes that emotional and cognitive biases often influence financial decision-making, and he is skilled at helping clients navigate these challenges to make informed, rational choices. By integrating Behavioral Finance into the firm’s investment platform, Maz is able to offer tailored advisory services that account for both the psychological and financial aspects of investing, ensuring that clients are better positioned to achieve their long-term goals.
In addition to his professional achievements, Maz has served as a trustee on several nonprofit boards and is a frequent speaker on investment topics, including Behavioral Finance. He has been actively involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu and Hang Out, Do Good (HODG), an organization dedicated to providing meals to those facing food insecurity. Maz and his wife Michelle reside in Calabasas with their two daughters.
